The World Meteorological Organization has pre-picked a list of male and female names to use and they just follow the order. A WEIRD hurricane fact: They started naming hurricanes in 1953 and ONLY used female names. Eesh. In 1978 (25 years later) they finally started using male and female names. All that being said, I think 2023 is the right year to start using names like Oglthormp!
