Stapler: Agree about “Idk” but “y’all” isn’t a texting/internet abbreviation. It’s a southern US contraction for “you all”— definitely in use in the ’80s and long before 🙂 Cute story— fabricated.
I first heard this joke in the early 90’s. I’m sure it’s older than that, but early 90’s is when I was old enough to find it amusing.
