Strike Out

previous post: Rydogged

  1. epic fail

  2. Christine, you hope he apologized. I hope Brigette kicks his ass.

  3. @Pale Many of those studies are usually retarded. In some cases a guy who kisses a girl without asking her permission would qualify as rape (not something most people would count as rape.) If there was more information given with those statistics I’d be more inclined to believe them.

  4. Check out the stats at the bottom of the page:

Ah, yes, the courts and police are so biased against the poor abused rapists. That’s why they jail women who report rapes:

And why they humiliate rape victims on the stand. Could you imagine a mugging victim being asked to hold up the wallet he was using that day?

  5. Ok i registered just to say this
@ Emnity- read the legal definition of rape – its not kissing its forcing sexual acts againsts someones will…I mean do you REALLY belive some loser out there thinks kissing is raping? Don’t be ignorant for kicks.
@ Kri- “the law tends to be unfair to men in these situations”. Find me case law, find me PROOF. You won’t cos you know all those stories about men who got done for rape cos she changed her mind afterwards or cos she was drunk and so was he. CRAP. Guys just say that cos they don’t want people to think they are a rapist. I study law, i studied rape, it explicitly says drunkeness is only a factor when someone is virtually passed out. Peple don’t get charged just on “he said, she said”, that goes for everything in life. Also you said women should not be held to a different standard to men regarding rape but it is interesting to note that men who have been raped don’t get told to piss off.
@INteresting- You sound like a shit person who doesn’t deserve a gf anyway. I mean 10 years or 50 years, getting raped would be effing scary you dick. I kind of hope someone will rape you, maybe one of your crazy gfs, with some kind of object, while you sleep.

  6. “@pale
I would like to see your citation for those statistics. They sound a little high in my opinion.
In other words, I think your full of shit.”

they are secondary sources, but they link or mention the primary source.

  7. For everyone wanting statistical references (as if you’re even going to check it out) here you go:
Crooks, R., & Baur, K. (2008). Our sexuality (10th ed.). Pacific Grove, CA: Wadsworth. Pages 481-482.

    The studies listed were:
    (Hanson et al., 1999)
    (U.S. Dept. of Justice, 2001)
    (Lonsway & Fitzgerald, 1994)
    (Romeo, 2005)
    (FBI 2006)
    (Tjaden & Thoennes, 1998)
    (Fisher et al., 2000)
    (Foubert et al., 2002)
    (Parrot, 1991)
    (Simonson & Subich, 1999)
    (Cowan 2000)
    (Rickert & Wiemann, 1998)

And Enmity, what do the researchers have to gain by inflating their statistics?
Also, the statistic actually says 1 in 4 college women have experienced a rape or attempted rape over the course of time spent in college.
Since I’m willing to bet Michael, Christine, and Brigette do NOT go to college, here’s another stat for you all. The NIJ and the CDC commissioned a phone survey of 8,000 women and 8,000 men and found that 1 in 6 women indicated they had been raped or had been the victim of an attempted rape, as did 3% of men.
Rape statistics are believed to be much lower than they actually are since rape is the most underreported crime in the United States, where only an estimated 11.9-28% of rapes are actually reported. (Hanson et al., 1999; U.S. Dept. of Justice, 2001; Lonsway & Fitzgerald, 1994; Romeo, 2005).

  8. Ey, yehnotreally you’re a feminist ain’t you? You got that “man sucks, women are delicate flowers” vibe going for you.

  9. Uh-oh scr3wy, I’m a feminist and I don’t know where you got the idea that’s what feminism is about. I believe taking your head off your own arse would help you actually know what you’re talking about.

  10. Picking up the spare.

  11. @oskomena.

    I’m a manist.

And I’m just following blindly with manism, you know, with the “women are evil” stuff.

    Much like your feminism.

  12. Christine’s voicemail message, “Hi, like I’m sooooo sorry but I’m like at the movies, okay, watching ‘Twilight.’ But, okay, I’m like going out to a bar afterwards, so like if you want to buy me drinks, that would be, like, sooooo cool …”

  13. I am a woman and scr3wy made me laugh my ass off HA HA HA HA

as for the post dude needs to rot in hell…with christine right along side him…

  14. Well at least he apologized… not that it means much, but still.

  15. @squidproquo: Thanks for the statistical information. I cannot wait to see broader results obtained through a national survey. If each nation conducted a large survey from city and town and provided some numbers which paint a bigger picture, i believe that people would not be so negative towards the statistical information presented with rape/attempted rape victims.

  16. Insane, please show your sources for claiming that the statistics compiled by the US Department of Justice are not a “national survey”. I would also like to see your sources for claiming that the actual incidence of rape is lower than shown by those studies.

  17. 1 out of every 3 eh?

“The FBI estimates that 72 of every 100,000 females in the United States were raped last year.” (Federal Bureau of Investigation, Uniform Crime Statistics, 1996.)

granted that is a stat from 96, but that is still way less than 1/3 of the female population.

  18. 1 out of 3 women in the US will experience sexual assault (a category of crimes that includes, but is not limited to, rape). 1 out of 6 women in the US will be raped. 1 out of 3 women in the world will be raped in her lifetime. (The Internet: it’s not just the U.S.)

(Violence against Women – Facts and Figures by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (2007))

Please enlighten me as to how you are able to know that it seems “too high”? Do rape victims wear a big red “R” on their clothing, a la Nathaniel Hawthorne? What amazing power do you have that enables you to determine if someone has been a victim of rape by looking at them?

  19. Geez, are you people naive? Distorting numbers to match your view is as old as picking verses out of the Bible to prove your point. And about as sane to argue about.

  20. I agree with Nublet, for is it not written: “So I will not look on them with pity or spare them, but I will bring down on their own heads what they have done”.

  21. Exactly my point. My stats came from reported crimes in the U.S.(I have no idea about the rest of the world as far as rape statistics.

I still don’t understand where those stats actually came from. As I stated above mine came from public records taken from crime reports(in the U.S. in 1996)

Now I never said I can tell who has been raped or not. As I stated earlier people take what I say completely out of context in order to make themselves look like a fucking hero(or whatever other unknown reason).

Here are the rest of the actual stats(for U.S)
In 1995, 354,670 women were the victims of a rape or sexual assault. (NationalCrime Victimization Survey. Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Department of Justice, 1996.)

Over the last two years, more than 787,000 women were the victim of a rape or sexual assault. (National Crime Victimization Survey. Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S.Department of Justice, 1996.)

and as far as percentages go this is the order of most cases in different countries
    1. South Africa
    2. Canada
    3. U.S.
(of course this is reported cases and I am well aware many cases go unreported in many different countries around the world. There are estimates of how many rapes there are including the unreported incidences, but there is definitely no way to prove how accurate there are.)

Now I am not saying that this is not a big issue. I was only saying in the beginning how I hate people who use this topic to get an advantage. How people skew statistics. How people want others to feel sorry for them like they are the only ones, and therefore, are somehow fucking special.
That being said this is my last post in this topic as these comments have become *ALMOST* lamer than the actual post itself. I refuse to participate any longer and will not be reading any responses.

  22. That is because the statistics are measuring different things. The one you cite measures how many women over the age of 18 were raped in 1995.

The United Nations statistic of “1 in 3 US women will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime; 1 in 6 US women will be raped in her lifetime; 1 in 3 women in the world will be raped in her lifetime” measures, well, I would think it is obvious, but apparently not.

I’m still on tenterhooks waiting to find out how you can tell who is a rape victim by looking at them. After all, by saying that you think the statistics are “too high”, that is what you are implying. Also please tell me how being the victim of a rape is “gaining advantage”.

  23. I_Promise_2only_put_the_tip_in

This data does NOT account for the Drama Queens who time & again claim every guy they have sex with rapes them? “I promise to only put the tip in” and really mean it…but “Whoops” went a couple inches further – yet stop when asked to stop is not rape. Get over it.
I feel sorry for anyone who is truely raped, no means no – but admit there are such creatures as attention whores who make shit up to have somthing to say!
But personally I think this facebook guy is fulla crap, I dont believe a word of it. But its hilarious to see the topic here morph into so many directions over a girl who wasnt raped & a guy talkin shit.
Remember guys just: “Promise to only put the tip in”

  24. I was going to try and avoid this discussion…I have failed…
Not true. the ones I cite include all ages and further on the same writing discusses the breakdowns of different age groups. I was reading the statistics report via public record via internet access from my local library’s website access.

they are measuring different things, but even if you do the math it does not come out to 1/3(at least in the U.S.)
how about we do the math?
in 50 years, if the stats stay the same(which they haven’t i’m sure), 17,733,500 women would be victims.
roughly 2,000,000 women are born in the U.S. each year(100mil in 50 years)

that makes roughly 17.7% of women being victims. this is a very rough estimate I know, but it still comes nowhere near 1/3 (33.3%)…actually closer to half of that
i am very tired and going to sleep. hopefully lamebook’s new posts cover this one up and I will never have to see this ridiculousness again.

and one more time for you: i said they were too high because i have been through all this fucking bullshit before…i know the stats…i go to therapy…i go to groups about it…
so now your just being a bitch Kookaburra
i’m done explaining myself to you senseless, lifeless idiots.

  25. @71
I’m still not sure how I got dragged into this cause all I said was that if he really raped her he should die.
Someone else was talking shit and I think somehow people got him confused with me…not sure but I don’t feel like going back and reading it all again.
    goodnight lamebook

  26. Kookaburra learn how to read will you! I was thanking Squidproquo for providing referenced information and adding what i would like to see happen in the future. The biggest problem with surveys is that the surveyers (if not careful) can under-represent the tested group by not allowing for enough variables. Hence the lack of whining in my previous post and a list of ideas on how to better the surveys that are conducted.

  27. first and foremost : this has got to be fake or a joke

Most of you had a lot of free time on the weekend to discuss rape i see. Men that rape women should have their balls cut off or undergo chemical castration

Women that fake rape to get money , attention blackmail or whatever should be gangraped by a bunch of 70 year olds on viagra and cocain … that way we are sure it is going to take them a long long time

  28. I get girls by forcing them to eat fine food, drink expensive wine, and partake in sophisticated cultural events and entertainment. I then charm them with my wit and broad knowledge of the arts, science, and current events. By the time I take them to bed, they -think- it is consensual. But it is not. They have fallen for my man magic.

  29. I_Promise_2only_put_the_tip_in

I promise to only put the tip in!
This is so stupid its funny “nothing happened” he FAILED to put anything in the chics drink. FAILED.
I promise to only put the tip in!

  30. #76 = best comment on this whole thread!

I also think that women get men by subtly luring them to the finest restaurants, entertainment centres and cultural establishments. They feed the male ego by acting charmed with their wit and their knowledge on a variety of select topics. So by the time the males leads them to bed, the men think they are controlling the situation. But it is not so. They have been duped by feminine wiles!

  31. @ anonymous 26: Why exactly is it disturbing?

It’s not a secret that date rape drugs exist and as a female I like to at least try and protect myself with knowledge.

  32. Hey Michael bowling is going to be Saturday, ok? Jack is coming too. He got out last week. He totally apologized to his sister for using her in that whole kidnapping scheme and everything. And Brenda is coming too… Ok? I think she is full of regret for killing your dog and stuff. She said sorry right? Yeah I think she did so that should be ok. So bowling is Saturday! Do you have any of those roofies left. I need to get with Brenda. It’s like our third date! I totally have a good apology planned out already. See ya!!! – Christine

  33. Why would you try to drug your girlfriend? I think what concerns me most about this is, if these two aren’t having sex already (which it seems they aren’t), they are likely young.

My brain hurts just trying to assess the situation.

    Christine is priceless.

  34. 83 LMFAO!!! nice work!!!

  35. wow..if your girlfriend doesnt want to have sex with dont drug her! your fuckin phyco! you should be in jail

  36. yeah you dont drug your woman if she dosnt put out. You wash your hands thoroughly with plenty of soap and water. After that you sneak on your woman and smack her over the head with a brick! It worked for Billy on a video so it must be true! Oh wait. That was how to get you girlfriend to have anal sex with you. Nevermind.

  37. “Honey, does this rag smell like chloroform to you…?”

  38. Big LOL @ Cletus!

Why is our near-perp not in jail?

  39. Did you know that 89% of the facts given in this thread are made the fuck up? Oh, and does anyone want to go bowling later? I don’t have any Rohypnol, but I do have some killer green…

  40. Did you know that statistically 5 out of 6 actually enjoy rape? The sixth person being of course the one who is being raped…

Seems like Insane is one the few sane people in this thread. And anonymous, THANK YOU for these comments that makes most sense. In my opinion, Kookaburra just seems like blinded by rage and statistics. It’s quite understandable though, this is a very very nasty subject. But we should be able to be reasonable nevertheless. Personally I hate rapists from the bottom of my heart and I don’t know what I would do if I encountered one. And Kookaburra, you must notice that anonymous is victim herself and I think her attitude is by far the healthiest I have seen considering the topic and her history.

Oh, and I hate statistics. Statistically, statistics are the most used thing in statistic propaganda.

  41. I’m pretty sure the joke is: statistically, 5 out of 6 people enjoy gang rape.

  42. Haha, bowling! What the fuck?
